About 15 Reliant Home Health employees participated early in the spirit of giving with a huge food donation to the San Antonio Food Bank.

The Food Bank had a lofty goal of collecting 1,000,000 pounds of food this month. Over a two week period, Reliant employees collected about 30 pounds of food to help the organization reach their goal.  Reliant recognizes the need in our area. Nearly one out of every four children and one out of every five adults in Southwest Texas lives in poverty and has difficulty meeting basic nutritional needs. Sixty-five percent of the people requesting emergency food have children. Senior citizens and those living on a fixed income often have limited funds for a consistent grocery budget.
